Hi! I'm Emily and I've been all over the place with my professional journey over the last 10 or so years. After graduating with a Bachelor's in Visual Journalism and a Master's in Education, I began my career in Higher Education. I gained tons of transferrable skills while working in education and was able to find ways to incorporate my creative interests; however, I was more focused on professional development and supplementing my career with more relevant hobbies and skills so I kind of just phased out of design and photography. I missed being creative but, honestly, I just didn't have the bandwidth to do both.

Last year, upon earning my MBA, it was time for a change. I transitioned to working at an arts non-profit and let me tell you, it has reinvigorated my love for photography and design! I'm surrounded by other like-minded creatives and have never been more motivated to reincorporate this into my life. Over the last year, I've been learning a new industry, organization, and job but now I'm finally have the motivation to get back to my creative roots.

For months, I've been wanting to set up some passive income streams and I'm finally taking the plunge! This is certainly going to be a process but I'm excited to get back to creating. I have always been interested in design, photography, social media, etc., but I haven't been doing much of it lately... really for the last few years. Now it's time to jump back in.

So how will this look?

Great question. I'm still figuring that out but working on updating my "brand." I suppose what I mean by that is determining my target audience, coming up with a marketing plan, and developing relevant content for said audience. I'm awkward but relatable so I want to share my journey with others who are considering similar career moves or are seeking support in their newest endeavor. Follow along as I stumble through this and don't hesitate to share your experiences as well!
